Line Of Duty's Adrian Dunbar wishes he could film more 'reckless' stunts

Line Of Duty star Adrian Dunbar wishes he could do more stunts in filming but admitted his co-stars tend to get the more 'exciting' scenes.

The 62-year-old actor, who plays AC-12 leader Ted Hastings in the hit series, revealed that he's a fan of 'reckless' stunts as long as the professional stuntmen are on hand to help and ensure everything is safe.

It comes one week after Line Of Duty made a much-anticipated return to the BBC with an explosive first episode for the season six premiere.

According to The Daily Star, Adrian explained that while he was a fan of daredevil scenes, his co-stars Martin Compston, 36, and Vicky McClure, 37, tend to have more dramatic action in their storylines.

"I do like things that are a bit reckless, so long as the people around me are professionals. Stuntmen will see you through anything," Adrian said.

"It is all about timing. The safety comes into the timing.

He added: "So I love doing stunts like that. But sadly mostly Martin and Vicky that get to do the exciting stuff these days."

Last Sunday, Adrian and his co-stars returned to screens for a tense season six premiere - following a two-year hiatus.

To kick off the new series, the group was introduced to a new character called DCI Jo Davidson (Kelly MacDonald) and became embroiled in a new investigation looking into the murder of a high-profile TV journalist.

The thrilling episode also smashed previous audience records and racked up an impressive 9.6 million viewers, meaning that it was the best performing drama on UK television since the Bodyguard aired in 2018.

Earlier this month, Adrian had also teased that there are plenty of surprises in store for the latest season and viewers will be in for quite a shock.

Speaking to Graham Norton at the start of March, Dunbar said: "18 months have passed so the landscape has completely changed.

"We are starting from a place that the audience will probably find a bit shocking at first.

"Things and people have been moved around so the first episode is going to be one of those 'head-wrecks' for the audience."
