Line of Duty's Adrian Dunbar says 'it's not looking good' for Ted Hastings

The Line of Duty series finale is just hours away, and the show's top cop has hinted more trouble is in store for poor Ted Hastings.

Adrian Dunbar, 60, has admitted that it's "not looking good" for the Superintendent as he's under investigation in the final ep.

The last time we saw him he was being questioned by newbie character DCS Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin) on charges of conspiracy to murder John Corbett.

Line of Duty writers have strongly hinted that Ted may be the mysterious H, the senior policeman at the helm of an organised crime group.

Speaking on The Andrew Marr show today, Adrian said: "It's not looking very good for Ted.

"[Carmichael] is very good, Ted's under a lot of pressure there, she knows absolutely what she's doing.

"She's got all the facts. It's pretty tense stuff."

Adrian wouldn't say whether he was H, or whether his character would be returning in the next series, should there be one.

A sneak preview of tonight's episode shows Carmichael asking Ted if he was motivated to kill Corbett (Stephen Graham).

She questions whether the murder was an act of revenge for the undercover copper torturing his ex wife and his connection to the murder of P.C. Maneet Bindra.

"I did not cause his death, he brought it upon himself when he went rogue," Ted fired back.

"I take no pleasure in this but the man had it coming in spades."

Adrian previously confirmed that H's identity will be exposed in the finale tonight.

He was probed by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, who tried to get him to reveal H's name on Good Morning Britaian.

But he refused, saying: “Sunday night at 9pm, tune in like the rest of us and you’ll find out.”
