Line Of Duty returns for season six as excited cast reunite ahead of filming

The secret is out. Filming has begun on the much anticipated TV drama Line Of Duty ahead of the return of it’s sixth season.

The cast were reunited on February 11 for a read through of the exciting new script for the BBC One show.

Teasing the high-energy drama, BBC bosses shared an Instragam picture of actors Martin Compston, Vicky McClure, Adrian Dubbar and guest lead Kelly Macdonald.

The four actors beamed in the group snap alongside the caption: ‘Back to work for this lot at the #LiveOfDuty Series 6 read-through!’

Fans of the drama - one of the most watched British television programmes of 2019 - were quick to share their excitement of the news.

“OMG can’t wait,” wrote one excited viewer.

Another couldn’t wait to get another dose of the addictive TV action, saying “I need this back in my life lol.”

The show’s lead actor Martin, who plays Detective Steve Arnott, also expressed his excitement at being back in work today.

“It’s a lovely morning in London town. Going to meet some old friends, possibly look at some script and then I’m going waistcoat shopping. Haha, we’re back!” an excited Martin posted on his social media as he walked through the city.

Fans of the TV show were left with plenty of questions after season five drew to a close at the start of May 2019.

Suspense has been mounting after fans found out the corrupt H was not one but four officers in the force and superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) was cleared of suspicion in the explosive season five finale.

The knife edge cliffhanger has set the show up for an explosive sixth season as the pressure mounts to find H.

The series showrunner, Simon Heath also expressed his excitement as the shows recent success.

“We're thrilled and flattered by the amazing response to this series of Line Of Duty,” he said last year.

“On behalf of the whole production, I want to thank our viewers for their fantastic loyalty, and World Productions and the BBC for their unstinting support."

Although a date for the show’s release has not yet been confirmed, Line Of Duty is one of several popular British dramas that fans will be excited to catch up on throughout the year.
