Line of Duty first look pictures hint at Kate Fleming's fate as fans use old trailer to hunt clues

Line of Duty fans are still reeling from Sunday night's cliffhanger after Kate Fleming and PC Ryan Pilkington became embroiled in a stand-off with potentially brutal consequences.

Viewers of the BBC One cop drama saw Kate's boss Jo Davidson given an order to "get rid" of former AC-12 officer Kate as she got closer to discovering more links to Organised Crime.

She managed to get Kate agree to meet her but when turning up in the planned location, Jo threw Kate a curve ball and asked to meet her at a new address.

She was accompanied by Ryan, who is embedded in an OCG, but Kate had already informed her former AC-12 colleague Steve Arnott of the location.

And in the final seconds of Line of Duty episode five, we heard two gunshots ring out - but who shot who and is Kate still alive?

Two brand new first look images from the upcoming episode show Superintendent Ted Hastings, DI Arnott, DC Chloe Bishop and returnee DCI Patricia Carmichael all arriving at the scene.

While it doesn't give anything away, Steve and Chloe's faces paint a concerning picture as both appear shocked by what they have arrived to.

But fans have been doing their own detective work and believe an old trailer has given away the ending of the latest episode.

Viewers have been taking to Twitter to reveal their theories but we won't give a spoiler away here.

What we do know is that fans have wait until Sunday for the next Line of Duty instalment and to to see how the drama REALLY unfolds.

And the wait really is unbearable.

"Jed Mercurio is a master of suspense, but we all know nothing is gonna happen to Kate, just have to wait a whole week to find out #LineOfDuty," tweeted one fan.

Another said: "That ending of #LineOfDuty!!! How am I expected to wait until next week to find out who got shot!?!?"

"How are we as a nation expected to wait for the next installment of #LineOfDuty ??" a third rightly asked.

But we have no choice but to wait until Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
