Line of Duty final episode 'most disappointing ending ever' as fans left unimpressed

Line of Duty fans have lashed out at the final episode of series 6 for being the 'worst ending ever.'

After being on tenterhooks for the past seven weeks, avid viewers tuned into BBC1 at 9pm up a height at the prospect of how things would turn out, with the finale trailer strongly hinting that we'd find out who H was.

And the biggest problem stemming from the hour long series finisher, which some fans expected to be a 90 minute special, was that many people at home were still not entirely sure on the identity of H.

It looked by all accounts that H was unlikely candidate Ian Buckells, after the 'buffoon' cop confessed to pulling the wool over everyone's eyes, leaving Ted Hastings, Steve Arnott and Kate Fleming in a state of shock.

But, the prospect of bungling Buckells being H did NOT sit well at all with devotees of all things AC-12, while others, convinced that we are still no closer to finding out who H is, could not believe they'd invested their time only for series 6 to end like that.

There were memes and GIFs galore as viewers vented their frustration at the final episode and demanded a Line of Duty series 7, with one ranting in capital letters: ".WHAT A FECKING ANTI-CLIMAX AND C**P ENDING. JED WHATS HIS NAME HAS P***ED OF 11MILLION VIEWERS WITH SUCH A WEAK PATHETIC ENDING..DONT BOTHER WITH ANOTHER SERIES WONT BE WATCHING NOW"

Equally livid, a second posted: "Absolutely c**p ending. Biggest anti-climax ever. It's either a set up for Series 7 or the biggest flop in recent history," and a third reacted: "that line of duty episode has ruined my week. f***ing c**p"

And, taking inspiration from Ted Hastings, another tweeted: "Even the wee donkey is disappointed with that crap ending!"
