Line of Duty final clues as actor drops hints on H's identity and Thurwell's fate

Line of Duty star Craig Parkinson has confirmed he has seen the much-anticipated series six finale episode, and he was definitely teasing some major theories.

The actor who played Dot on the hit series created by Jed Mercurio wasn't up for spilling the beans on The One Show on Thursday.

But that didn't stop him making some hints along the way over the mystery identity of 'H', and what else could happen in the episode.

He even suggested a fan theory about Kate Fleming could be correct, while debunking other claims about Marcus Thurwell and Patricia Carmichael.

Of course he had a grin on his face most of the time suggesting not everything he said should be taken as fact - besides, surely he's not going to give the full game away is he?

Here's all the clues we could gather from the chat, and what it could all mean...

Who is 'H'?

Having seen the episode, Alex Jones and Amol Rajan were quick to ask Craig who 'H' was - assuming the identity is exposed in the finale.

But being coy, he wasn't going to fall into the trap and refused to comment on if he knew who it was or not.

He told them: "I bet you wanna know that don't you... I can neither confirm nor deny that I know who H is. You better do some better questioning than that."

Alex then pointed out he probably didn't want to ruin anything for fans, to which he responded: "Exactly!"

He was the first 'H' aka The Caddy to be revealed, so he has experience in keeping things under wraps!

Marcus Thurwell is really dead... apparently

Craig also denied rumours or theories that Marcus Thurwell was still alive, after being confirmed dead in the latest episode.

Fans just do not believe James Nesbitt would be cast to literally play an image on a screen, and then there's him being spotted, according to fans, in a video shown in the last episode.

He's obviously playing with us, or maybe not, but Craig called the idea of Marcus being alive "completely ridiculous".

He told the fan who wrote in to The One Show: "Really Bev? Delete your Facebook account, that is completely ridiculous."

Craig then suggested James only appeared as an image because they couldn't afford him full-time.

Kate Fleming could be 'H'

Craig suggested it could really be anyone exposed as 'H', and that fans might not be wrong for suspecting Kate.

Alex called him "patronising", when he suggested fans jumping on this theory have clearly been paying attention during the past series.

Smirking, he said: "I'm not saying anything, but Tina [the viewer] has obviously been very observant through every season of Line of Duty..."

Perhaps he is just setting up Kate, like his character Dot did to Steve Arnott in series three...

Back to the whiteboard

Craig denied that Patricia Carmichael was bent (BBC/World Productions)

Craig denied that Patricia Carmichael was bent, despite fans being left convinced she is corrupt.

Something tells us Dot and Carmichael would have gotten along if he'd made it to the latest series.

While he was obviously saying anything just to mess with our minds, something he did say left some wondering if there was a clue.

Of Carmichael being bent, he replied: "I'd say that's a ridiculous comment, go back to the whiteboard."

While it may have been a passing remark urging the viewers to think again, could he actually have been suggesting the clue is on a whiteboard, or are we going mad?

The final series?

Craig could not confirm of deny if there would be another series (BBC)

Craig could not confirm or deny if there would be another series of the show amid fears it is coming to an end.

He said he didn't actually know, and that show creator Jed Mercurio refused to tell him.

Craig commented: "I tried really hard to crack Jed Mercurio, and it was impenetrable. He wouldn't tell me, I was dying to know if this is the end and he deflected my question like a politician."

Now one viewer claimed that on this word "politician" the actor nodded, and asked if it was a clue.

Tell us we're reaching, but former PCC Rohan Sindwhani worked in politics previously, and he's hinted to be 'H'!

We're willing to jump on any clue or theory at this point....

Line of Duty series six concludes Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
