Line of Duty filming in Belfast suspended due to Coronavirus

Producers for BBC's Line of Duty have today announced that they'll be suspending filming for Season 6, due to coronavirus fears.

A statement on the TV show's Twitter page reads:

"In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, World Productions are suspending filming of Line of DutyS6 with the support of the BBC. We will keep you updated with further developments in due course. Thank you."

Last month, stars Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston were photographed filming outside of Pelbury House, the fictional police headquarters in the show.

Line of Duty currently does not have an airing date for its sixth season yet, but it was expected that the BBC's flagship cop drama was going to be broadcast some time in 2020.

Back in November, it was revealed that Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald (Trainspotting, Boardwalk Empire) will be joining the cast in series 6.

The BBC said that McDonald will play Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, "the senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder, whose unconventional conduct raises suspicions at AC-12".
