Line of Duty filming halts amid coronavirus pandemic

Producers have suspended filming on the Line of Duty set "in light of the spread of Covid-19".

Nottingham star Vicky McClure shared the news on Twitter on Monday, March 16, along with a plea for people to be kind.

Wollaton-born Vicky, who plays Kate Fleming on the popular BBC One show, said "Look out for one another" aside a love heart.

The 36-year-old actress has been filming series six of the cop drama in Belfast alongside Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar, having official reunited for a script read-through in Feburary.

Only yesterday (March 15) the cast was spotted on Cavehill Road and Sunningdale Park in the Northern Ireland capital.

However, due to the continued spread of Covid-19, producers World Productions have made the difficult decision to halt filming.

The full statement reads: "In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, Wold Productions are suspending filming of Line of Duty series 6 with the support of the BBC.

"We will keep you updated with further developments in due course. Thank you!"

Fans of the show were quick to share their disappointment on Twitter.

Malcolm Taylor said "Well, that's ruined my day," while Grenville Riley added: "I thought 2020 was a bad year. Now it’s the apocalypse as far as I am concerned." Best of Line of Duty, a fan account, added: "This is sad to hear but the cast and crew need to stay safe! Sending you all the love."
