Line of Duty fans 'work out link between Steph Corbett and Marcus Thurwell' ahead of finale

Line of Duty fans are convinced they've cracked the case, and know the possible secret link between two characters, ahead of Sunday night's much-anticipated series finale.

Amid speculation that Marcus Thurwell is still alive, after being confirmed dead recently, fans think he shares a "missing link" to Steph Corbett, the Mirror reports.

Undercover officer John Corbett's Steph has remained in the series following his murder, and fans are predicting she has a bigger role to play.

With AC-12 and viewers at home finally closing in on the mystery identity of 'H', many are wondering if it could be Thurwell, despite his body apparently being found at his Spanish home.

directly on either a Commons office number or his mobile.

A scene in the last episode saw a masked man who seemed to have similar eyebrows to Thurwell actor James Nesbitt, which got fans speculating he's not really dead.

Many are predicting he will return on Sunday and could be linked to Steph.

This is because she "appeared shifty" in recent scenes at her home amid speculation she has something to hide.

And she's not featured in the most recent episodes, adding to the belief she will be brought back on Sunday.

One viewer wrote on Twitter: "I predict that Marcus Thurwell is living with Steph Corbett. The bodies in Spain were from the freezer."

Another said: "Marcus Thurwell is staying with Steph Corbett and the money in the attic is his."

A third fan added: "Marcus Thurwell and Steph."

Others who are convinced Steph is up to something with the truth behind £50,000 stashed in her attic given to her by Ted Hastings yet to be cleared up.

Line of Duty airs on Sunday on BBC One at 9pm.
