Line Of Duty fans wanting to know who H is might be in for a long wait

The nation is the edge of their seats waiting to find out who the mysterious 'H' is in Line Of Duty - but we might have to wait until the next series.

Rochenda Sandall, who plays the steely organised crime gang member Lisa McQueen, has teased that the identity of the corrupt high-ranking officer known as 'H' may not be disclosed at the end of series five next week.

The gripping drama, which has seen police anti-corruption unit AC-12 investigate a possible police collusion with hijackers of drugs transport, concludes next Sunday with a special 90 minute feature-length finale - but we could be left with the mother of all cliffghangers.

Appearing on This Morning she told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby : "There's still another series to go and lots of detail."

Asked by Phillip if we'll find out who 'H' is this weekend, she declined to answer and replied: "I can't tell you that, come on."

Asked if she knew the identity of 'H' she laughed: "Maybe I do, maybe I don't."

The sixth series of the hit BBC cop drama has already been commissioned, but we might have to wait a while before it comes to our screens.

In the penultimate episode there was shock when Adrian Dunbar’s Superintendent Ted Hastings, who has worked to bring to justice criminals and corrupt cops, was charged with conspiracy to murder.

The popular character appeared to go rogue as he went undercover as 'H' and was arrested by DS Steve Arnott and charged with conspiracy to murder.

But while he appeared to pretend that he was 'H' to the gang run by John Corbett, an undercover cop brutally murdered during the fourth episode, viewers wondered if he really was bluffing or if it was an elaborate double-bluff and he really is 'H.'

And there was another mystery when, while infiltrating the gang, Hastings appeared to recognise who Lisa was.
