Line of Duty fans think they've spotted a clue that shows Kate Fleming will be killed off

Line of Duty fans are worried they have spotted a chilling clue to the fate of detective Kate Fleming.

The latest instalment of the hit show ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger with Kate and Ryan Pilkington in a tense gun face-off. As the credits rolled gunshots were heard but we won’t find out who was the victim until episode six, next Sunday.

There are seven episodes in this sixth series, but fans have spotted that Kate's (played by Vicky McClure) name is missing from the next episode. Jo Davidson's (played by Kelly McDonald) name is also absent.

Kate’s name was mentioned in episode five’s ‘Cast & Crew’ list on the TV guide, alongside all the other leading characters.

But, next week, Kate’s name is nowhere to be seen.

The list does include; Superintendent Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin).

The episode ended in a tense gunpoint standoff between Kate Fleming and Ryan Pilkington, Kate Fleming (BBC)

The official synopsis for season 6 episode 6 synopsis says: "As AC-12 struggle to deal with the repercussions of tragic events, Hastings makes one final bid to uncover institutionalized corruption before his time runs out."

“One of the things about the show is that nobody’s safe,” the show’s creator Jed Mercurio has said.

“That’s what keeps the audience on the edge of their seat. So I know that it would be a sad day, but I think all the main cast realise that it’s possible."

While Sunday night's cliffhanger and Kate Fleming's fate was the biggest talking point of the latest Line of Duty episode, it is a spelling mistake during Jo Davidson's messages to the unknown crime boss that has armchair detectives excited — you can read more about it here.
