It may only be two episodes into the sixth season but gritty cop drama Line of Duty has certainly got fans talking once again.
While the show appears to have set a calmer pace this time around in comparison to seasons gone by, DI Kate Fleming, DCI Jo Davidson and co are still setting social media alight with fans fiercely expressing their opinions.
Episode two had fans gobsmacked early on when just 10 minutes in a news report was shown where a female news reporter spoke about a retired police officer and, in particular, child sex abuse charges.
She was heard saying: "It’s now a matter of public record that Jimmy Savile cultivated relationships with senior police officers.
"Savile exploited those relationships to intimidate anyone attempting to investigate his offending."

But while those comments had left fans shocked and frantically typing their thoughts, the entire storyline has got fans online sharing messages about its striking resemblance to the murder case of Jill Dando.
Fans flocked to Twitter on Sunday night using the hashtag #lineofduty to voice their opinion.
They were adamant that the plot was following the same lines to the mystery that still surrounds the tragic death of the TV presenter who was murdered on her Fulham doorstep on April 26, 1999.

One fan tweeted: "Anyone else seeing parallels between the Gail Vella murder and Jill Dando’s murder? Shot in the head at close range outside her home, suspect lived near by but questions about them being capable of doing it."
Another seemed to agree and wrote: "Am I the only seeing parallels between the murder of Jill Dando and the #LineOfDuty Gail Vela murder story line? Obsessive fan wrongly accused etc..."
A third similarly said: "Solid nod to the assassination of Jill Dando and the upcoming, and way overdue, inquiry into the Daniel Morgan murder. Bravo @jed_mercurio #LineOfDuty #BentCoppers"

However, not all fans seems to like the storyline with one user claiming the writers must have "run out of ideas for this one".
The successful show certainly seems to have viewers gripped yet again with over 10 million tuning in for the first episode on March 21.
