The identity of H, or the fourth 'man', has been exposed according to fans of Line of Duty, who claim they have solved the clues.
Anti-Corruption Unit Detective Inspector Steve Arnott (played by Martin Compston) has previously questioned the gender of the missing link as AC-12 battle organised crime gangs and their links to corrupt coppers.
The arrival of DC Superintendent Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin) at the AC-12 office to officially dissolve the unit and assume control from Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) as his team closes in on the connection between murdered journalist Gail Vella, OCG and bent police officers.
Canny viewers have turned detective to claim that with Carmichael appearing, it has confirmed that they think she could be the elusive H.

Fans on social media have pointed to a comment made by Jimmy Lakewell as proof as he said that AC-12 need "look beyond the race claim to find H."
This has seen Twitter come alive with the theory that Carmichael is H as if you were to take the letters from "race claim" from her surname, the only letter that is left is H.
One fan detective tweeted: “We all know Patricia Carmichael is H. Jimmy Lakewell said ‘look beyond the RACE CLAIM to find H’.
“So take the letters of RACE CLAIM from the letters of CARMICHAEL. What do you get? H. Solved it.”

Carmichael's appearance in the fifth episode of Line of Duty has confirmed to many that she must be H, after her actions were particularly dubious.
One wrote: “ Carmichael is so bent, I swear she is H #LineOfDuty.”
Another added: “Carmic-H-ael. Just saying. #LineOfDuty,” another mentioned while a third wondered: “Could Carmichael be H!? #LineofDuty.”
Time is running out for Ted Hastings, who has been told to retire by those above him in the force, and AC-12, who are on the verge of being closed down as they look like they are about to expose how high up the force the corruption is flowing.
