Line of Duty fans sickened as Ryan Pilkington brutally strangles and drowns copper

Line of Duty fans were left horrified this evening as Ryan Pilkington brutally strangled a copper, who he left to drown in her police car.

The OCG member, played by Gregory Piper, has come a long way since his days of stealing mobile phones and even tried to murder Terry Boyle.

Terry, who has Down's syndrome, is being framed for investigative journalist Gail Vella's murder after he was arrested during the first episode.

DCI Joanne Davidson conducted a raid on Flat 4F Beechwood House, but was conveniently diverted beforehand - prompting some serious raised eyebrows.

But as they got Terry in for questioning, he appeared to be about to spill something - which DCI Davidson quickly put a stop to.

Ryan had clearly aimed to silence Terry once and for all, but Kate managed to get there in the nick of time and stop Ryan in his tracks.

And relieved viewers flocked to Twitter to comment, with one writing: "THE F***ING B******!!!! #LineOfDuty."

While another commented: "Stop them Kate !! I'm so scared for Terry #LineOfDuty."

A third wrote: "OH MY GOD #LineOfDuty."

"OMG #lineofduty," another commented.

One exclaimed: "S***!!! #LineOfDuty."

Kate went to AC-12 about the incident and admitted her suspicions about Ryan and went straight to Steve.

They both then discovered that Ryan was the juvenile who had tried to cut off his finger.

What will they do about Ryan?
