Line of Duty fans rejoice as all five seasons of hit copper drama land on RTE Player

Line of Duty is the show that everybody is talking about at the moment - and there's been a huge boost for Irish fans of the hit copper drama.

Series six of the crime drama is currently airing but people are desperate to catch up on the previous five seasons.

Well, there is good news because series 1-5 has landed on the RTÉ Player earlier this week.

The broadcaster announced the news yesterday but we are absolutely delighted that it is not an April Fools' joke.

The criminally addictive series, which is the show on everybody's lips, is infamous for its shocking twists, stellar cast and plots that will have you glued the edge of your seat.

Starring Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure and Keeley Haes, with guest stars including Thandie Newton and Stephen Graham, the series follows the trials and tribulations of anti-corruption unit ‘AC-12’ on their quest to rid the police of dirty coppers but how far will they go to uncover the truth?

If you’ve been hearing all about how good it is, now is your opportunity to see it from the beginning, from today.

And it turns out that Line of Duty is doing more than simply making people turn on their televisions.

It's been revealed that the number of applicants looking to tackle "“bent coppers” has tripled in the past three years in the UK.

In 2017, the gritty cop drama which stars Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure jumped from BBC Two to BBC One and the switch led to viewing figures doubled to almost 10 million.

And the figures coincided with a dramatic increase in applications for the Met Police's real-life equivalent to the AC-12.

The sixth series of Line of Duty is on at 9pm on Sundays on BBC One.
