Line of Duty fans make major prediction about identity of 'H' after Hastings twist

Line of Duty viewers have made a prediction surrounding the identity of “H”, the potentially corrupt officer in the BBC drama.

Season 5 kicked off with the murder of Maneet, and episode two which aired on Sunday heavily hinted Ted Hastings was the mystery "H" yet to be unveiled.

Several scenes pointed the blame towards Ted, with him acting very suspiciously as different developments arose.

But fans remained unconvinced, even when Ted looked as though he was in fear of being caught out after a potential witness was questioned.

Taking to Twitter , fans claimed it was all a “red herring”, with some even thinking DI Kate Fleming could know more than she’s letting on.

One fan said: “Far too obvious for H to be Hastings he has to be a red herring!”

Another tweeted: “Ted is definitely a red herring.”

A third agreed: “I refuse to believe Hastings can be bad. Has to be a red herring.”

Kate and Steve Arnott were seen interrogating Jane Cafferty about her own recruitment into organised crime, where she made a confession.

She was shown pictures of police officers from AC-12’s investigation board, as they continued to investigate the mystery “H”.

Jane was shown picking a mystery person at the end, but fans have gone as far as to think it’s another double-bluff, and that Kate herself is “H”, or is at least involved.

One fan said: “I'm just putting this out there. I don't trust D.I Kate Fleming. I'm convinced she's involved somehow.”

Another agreed: “H is Kate Fleming. As the brains, she has used the codename “H” knowing it will be pinned on Hastings.”

Line of Duty airs Sundays at 9pm on BBC One.
