Line of Duty fans in shock over Kate Fleming shooting cliffhanger

Line of Duty fans are reeling after being left with yet another massive cliffhanger that saw one of the show's leading character's in a gunfire shootout.

In the final seconds of Sunday's fifth episode, detective Kate Fleming was seen in a deadly standoff with corrupt killer cop Ryan Pilkington, while baddie DCI Joanne Davidson looked on.

Kate attempted to persuade Ryan that his time was up and revealed that AC-12 had him under surveillance and knew what he was up to, saying: "AC-12 have been tracking you both you're never going to get away with it."

As she shouted: "Drop the gun, Ryan drop the gun" the screen when blank and TWO shots were fired - as the credits began to roll.

It left fans up and down the country screaming at the TV as it now means another seven day wait to find out if heroine Kate has survived or not.

Fans are fuming at even the prospect of Kate coming to any harm. One Twitter user said "I shall march on the BBC if Kate dies", while another added: "If Kate dies, we riot".

Viewers must wait until next Sunday's Line of Duty to see how the drama unfolds.

And don't forget that series six will run for SEVEN episodes this time around, so there's still two more weeks of twists, turns and cliffhangers to come.
