Fans of BBC One hit crime drama Line of Duty have been hyped up by a new photo from actor Martin Compston.
The Scottish actor, 35, who plays Anti-Corruption Unit Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott on the show, took to social media to give fans a behind the scenes look at the upcoming sixth series.
Martin posted a picture on Instagram of himself in police uniform alongside co-star Adrian Dunbar and show creator Jed Mercurio.
Martin captioned the image: "Day one in the AC12 house. 4months to go."
Naturally, fans of the show lapped up the post and quickly showed their appreciation in the comments.
One fan wrote: "4 months to go ? Please I cant wait. Can I come and watch you guys live now."
Another replied: "Yes! Can’t wait."
"Omg!!! Miss you guys so much!" commented another.
A different fan concluded: "Excited muchley."
The next series of the hit show will see a new actor become the guest lead of the show.
Trainspotting and Boardwalk Empire actress Kelly MacDonald will join the show as Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Davidson.
The show's Twitter wrote at the time: "Kelly Macdonald will star as guest lead in the next series of #LineOfDuty.
"She's playing Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder, whose unconventional conduct raises suspicions at AC-12."
Jed Mercurio commented that Joanne will be "the most enigmatic adversary AC-12 have ever faced."
Previous guest leads include Lennie James , Keeley Hawes , Thandie Newton , and Stephen Graham.
In addition to Dunbar returning as Superintendent Ted Hastings, Vicky McClure will also be back as Detective Inspector Kate Fleming.
Anna Maxwell Martin is also set to reprise her antagonistic role as Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael in the new episodes after being introduced in the previous series.
