Line of Duty fans fuming after ’snake’ Kate snitches but others predict 'good twist'

Line of Duty fans were not impressed on Sunday evening as DI Kate Fleming appeared to have snitched.

During episode two of season six, Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) was seen storming into a police station to "raid Operation Lighthouse".

As he requested that they hand over anything related to the operation, DCI Davidson was quick to correct Arnott - and left him feeling rather embarrassed.

"I notified the DCC of my concerns regarding the leaking of confidential police information such as the operation to arrest Ross Turner. The DCC agreed to a moratorium on further distribution of Operation Lighthouse files," Davidson told him.

"You did it to make mugs of AC-12," Arnott said, to which Davidson sarcastically replied: "That was just an added bonus."

As Arnott and his team left the building, Davidson was heard saying to Fleming: "Cheers Kate, nice one."

The camera then cut to Arnott answering a phone call from Fleming in the car park.

"Steve I'm sorry," she told him, to which he replied: "I trusted you mate."

"I’m damned if I do, damned if I don’t. What am I supposed to do?" Fleming said back, as he hung up on her.

Fans of the BBC drama were not happy with her actions and accused Fleming of being a "snake".

"kate you SNITCH #LineOfDuty," one person tweeted, while a second tweeted: "Kate is a disgrace #LineOfDuty."

A third fan added: "Nah Kate you’re dead to me #LineOfDuty," while a fourth said: "Oooh Kate, you snide #LineOfDuty."

Another viewer remarked: "There will need to be a good twist to make me like Kate again #LineOfDuty."

Elsewhere in the latest episode of Line of Duty, fans were shocked when Jimmy Savile was referenced as the officers looked back at an old police report.
