Line Of Duty cast reunite for boozy night out as lockdown lifts

Line Of Duty favourites Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure looked in high spirits as they reunited for a night out.

Vicky took to Instagram to upload a clip of the duo - who play Superintendent Ted Hastings and Detective Inspector Kate Fleming in the BBC One drama - walking down a quiet street as the wind slammed against them.

In the funny clip, Vicky can be heard uttering Sup. Ted Hasting's famous line: "Jesus, Mary, Joseph" before Adrian runs up to her and shouts "and the wee donkey" into the camera as they both burst out in fits of laughter.

Vicky and Adrian have starred in the show - alongside Martin Compston as Detective Inspector Steve Arnott - since it started nearly a decade ago and she admitted she was feeling "emotional" when the sixth series wrapped earlier this month.

She wrote on Instagram: "Please excuse the slightly over emotional post but it’s been quite a surreal time! ... The audience support has been unreal, the creativity of merchandise, the artwork, ground breaking viewing figures and the hype!

"It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to be a part of Line of Duty, not just because of the success of the show but the life long friendships we’ve all gained.

"We have such a talented & caring crew, a huge part of it’s success is down to them. Our amazing Star Guest Kelly Macdonald! Shalom, Perry, Anna, Tommy, Rosa, Greg, Anneika, Nigel, Ace, Liza, Amy to name just a few of the incredible cast in series 6! Belfast, our LOD home. Thanks for the craic as always.

"Honestly, I can’t thank YOU all enough for your love & dedication to the show. Raising my brew to you Jed Mercurio! The epitome of honesty & integrity. @mrmartincompston & Adrian I love you‘s 29!"

After the ending of series six, which saw the unmasking of H, fans are hopeful for another string of episodes but creator Jed Mercurio admits he "doesn't know" if that will come.

Ian Buckells was revealed as H in Line of Duty (BBC)

Refusing to rule it out or in, he said: "We don't know. Since probably season four, we've been talking to the BBC about the realistic longevity of the series. I've experienced broadcasters pulling the plug while we were still developing a storyline - Bodies and Cardiac Arrest both ended prematurely on the BBC. So it's an ongoing discussion, is all I can say."

Line Of Duty fans had been disappointed with the reveal that bungling officer Bucklles was revealed to be arch villain H, however that hasn't stopped the show from making history as one of the most watched dramas of the century.
