Line of Duty boss reveals behind-the-scenes pictures of series 6

The boss behind cop corruption drama Line of Duty has revealed a series of behind-the-scenes pictures.

Jed Mercurio shared the snaps on Twitter as filming for the sixth series took place in Belfast.

The drama, which centres around anti-corruption team AC 12 as they track down "bent coppers", is due to broadcast its latest series in 2021.

Filming for the season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic but, as we can see in these latest pictures, production has now resumed and backstage staff are wearing face masks.

The six pictures show Martin Compston (Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott) and Vicky McClure (Detective Inspector Kate Fleming) relaxing between takes.

One shows McClure reclining on a sofa while checking her phone, another captures Compston gesticulating at the camera, while another shows the pair laughing together.

The other three images, which can be found on Jed Mercurio's twitter account, also capture the backstage life of the popular BBC drama.

Two show a Covid-compliant crew setting up a shot at the familiar AC 12 offices, while the final one catches Compston sat on an office chair while checking his phone.

An official date for the return of Line of Duty has not yet been announced but it is understood series six will be on screens in 2021.
