Line Of Duty season 6 acronyms from CHIS to MIT - full list and what words mean

Line of Duty returned to our screens on March 21 after a two-year hiatus but fans were left confused after hearing the cast reel off endless acronyms.

The BBC announcer already had to clarify one term, CHIS, after fans mistook it for a rude word.

As the credits rolled at the end of the first episode, the voice-over said: "CHIS, if you're wondering, is a covert human intelligence source."

It came after several viewers pointed out that the pronunciation of CHIS actually sounded a lot like 'jizz'.

However, with the series being a police drama, it comes with an infinite number of acronyms and confusing jargons.

As series six continues we made a list of acronyms so you can tell the difference between your DCs and DCCs.

New acronyms

CHIS - Covert Human Intelligence Source
