Line of Duty AC-12 character's absence in series six explained

Line of Duty fans may have noticed a particular character from AC-12 is missing in series six.

There have been a few changes for AC-12 since the previous season.

DI Kate Fleming (played by Vicky McClure) left the anti-corruption unit and fans think she is going undercover.

And DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly McDonald) became one of the new faces on the block.

However, you may have spotted that PC Tatleen Sohota (played by Taj Atwal) was missing from series six's lineup.

PC Sohota worked with Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Kate when they investigated Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) in season five.

The reason she did not return to AC-12 was that she is due to star in the upcoming BBC series, The Syndicate, reports The Express.

The drama is due to return to BBC One after six years, and sadly the filming schedules for both series were difficult to balance.

Actress Atwal spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live about her new venture, saying: "I couldn't make the dates work alongside The Syndicate, I had to choose and it was not an easy decision.

"I just wanted to play something different." She said she was keen to take on a completely new character.
