Lindy’s NFL magazine ranks Dolphins’ Xavien Howard top CB in the NFL

A pleasant surprise for Dolphins fans! Casual football fans got a chuckle out of the news that the Miami Dolphins were making cornerback Xavien Howard the richest cornerback in all of football a short while back. Good, let them. Miami’s fourth year cornerback is getting respect from other, more mainstream resources — such as Lindy’s 2019 NFL preview magazine.

Lindy’s puts out a plethora of NFL content each and every year — they have content dedicated to the NFL Draft, the NFL season, college football and fantasy football, just to name a few. And one thing Lindy’s has always done? Rankings.

This year’s cornerback rankings in the publication’s 2019 NFL preview grants Howard the top spot, edging out the likes of Jacksonville’s Jalen Ramsey and Arizona’s Patrick Peterson. Even better news for Howard? He’s got a fair chance at reclaiming the throne for 2020. Howard is fully healthy and his competition is mired in different degrees of offseason drama. Patrick Peterson was suspended for the first six games of the 2019 season due to a failed PED drug test, while Jalen Ramsey is busy working through his own contract negotiations. The Jaguars have already informed Ramsey that he will not be getting a contract extension this year.

Howard has his all wrapped up and is ready to just focus on football, leaving him a big opportunity to remind all those casual football fans exactly who he is and why he deserved the contract Miami signed him to.
