Olympic hero Lindsey Vonn has proposed to her NHL star partner P.K. Subban - despite being engaged for four months.
Skier Vonn said "yes" to hockey ace Subban, 30, in August, when he asked her to marry him - having been together for two years.
But on Christmas day, Vonn decided to give her fiancé a ring of his own because "men deserve engagement rings too."
The 35-year-old posted on Instagram : "Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!! On our 2 year anniversary I returned the favor and asked PK to marry me... and he said yes.
"We talk about equality but actions speak louder than words. Men should get engagement rings too and this is what PK deserves.
"Can’t wait to marry you babe."
Along with the message she posted a picture of the two dressed in identical striped pyjamas with their three dogs.
Vonn was previously in a relationship with Tiger Woods between 2013 and 2015, and was married to fellow Team USA skier Thomas Vonn for six years from September 2007.
The couple have previously spoken to Vogue about their relationship and their plans to get wed.
"We're not in a big hurry to get married," Vonn said. "It kind of depends on his playing schedule, and when we have time to sit down and go through it. I don't want to stress him out because he has a big season coming."
Subban added: "Lindsey's the best thing that's ever happened to me. She deserves to be with someone who loves her more than anything else in the world, and I do."
Vonn is one of America's greatest female alpine skiers - having won the nation's first Olympic medal in the downhill at the 2010 Games.
She also has four World Cup titles, including 82 wins, and has eight World Championship medals and two more Olympic medals - from four Games.
Canadian Subban is a defenceman for the New Jersey Devils, having previously appeared for the Montreal Canadiens and the Nashville Predators.
Explaining her relationship with Subban, Vonn told Vogue: "Right off the bat, I knew he was different," Lindsey reveals. "But I’d been married before, so I was pretty hesitant to let myself think that I could find someone that I would want to be married to again.
"After a few months of dating, I knew he was the one I wanted to be with, though. He makes me happy, and he’s so positive and energetic."
