Lindsey Graham says Trump is "not going to give in" on border wall

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) suggested that President Trump reopen the federal government "for a short period of time" to see if Congress can reach a deal to fund a border wall during an interview on "Fox News Sunday," cautioning that Trump is "not going to give in" on his demands for the border.

The big picture: Graham said he thought Democrats might be open to funding the wall in exchange for protections for DACA and Temporary Protected Status recipients — a point echoed in a Sunday tweet from Trump. Vice President Mike Pence seemed to signal that the administration did not favor such a deal last week. Graham, who has been one of the loudest Republican voices calling for Trump to declare a national emergency to fund the wall, added that he had just spoken to Trump, who told him that a national emergency was his "last option."
