Lindsay Lohan has left fans baffled after writing a cryptic tweet to Taylor Swift.

On Sunday (13 September), the actor and beach club mogul tweeted no message at Swift, but merely wrote “@taylorswift”.

Despite a complete absence of message, Lohan’s tweet still managed to go viral, with more than 6,000 people retweeting the call out.

Many were overjoyed by the one-sided interaction between the pair. “Lindsay is a Swiftie and that’s why I stan Lindsay,” wrote one fan. “That and also her being a f***ing icon. Stan f***ing Lindsay Lohan for clear skin.”

It’s not the first time that Lohan has attempted to get Swift’s attention on social media. In 2019, Lohan repeatedly commented on Swift’s Instagram Live in which she announced her album Lover.

“We think you’re great,” Lohan wrote. When Swift appeared not to notice Lohan’s presence, the Mean Girls star added: “You should respond!”

Finally, Lohan claimed that her mother Dina once starred in what was presumably a production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, with Swift appearing in the musical’s maligned film adaptation.

“My mom was in Cats,” Lohan wrote.

Swift herself has yet to respond to Lohan’s most recent message. She did, however, tweet her support for a proposed music video for her song “The Last Great American Dynasty” that would feature Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

“Not trying to be The Loudest Woman This Town Has Ever Seen but... I LOVE THIS,” Swift wrote.

According to reports, Lohan is currently being sued by publisher HarperCollins for allegedly breaching a book deal agreement.
