Linda Robson slams rumours she's feuding with Birds of A Feather co-star Pauline Quirke

Linda Robson has branded the rumours of her feuding with her Birds Of A Feather co-star Pauline Quirke a "load of codswallop".

The actress, 63, insisted that the two are still friends after it was reported that the duo had a massive fall out with Lesley Joseph.

Fans even wondered what was happening when Pauline didn't appear in last year's Christmas special.

However, the reason she was absent from the special was due to the fact she wanted to step away from the limelight.

Linda told The Sun on Sunday: “Take no notice of what you’ve heard about me and Pauline falling out. It’s a load of old codswallop.

“Pauline just chose not to do Birds Of A Feather. She wants to concentrate on her acting academy, that’s that. We’ve known each other since we were ten. We’re friends. Will Pauline return to the show? I don’t know."

The two have been working together since the 1980s (BBC)

The Loose Women star has worked with the actress on and off since the late 1980s when they both shot to fame on the hit BBC sitcom.

Linda, who played Tracey Stubbs since 1989, and Pauline (who played Tracey's sister Sharon Theodopolopodous) were childhood best friends.

Rumours of the two feuding first emerged last month, when The Sun reported Linda and Lesley stopped talking to Pauline after a series of arguments.

It was suggested one particularly nasty row between Pauline and Lesley left the friendship between the three stars in tatters.

A source said at the time: "The nadir came during one astonishing row at Teddington Studios, culminating in Pauline and Lesley squaring off, noses centimetres apart, outside the women's loos.

"They were basically pulled apart by stunned crew members. Things went rapidly downhill from there."

The insider added: "Linda doesn't believe they'll ever speak again."
