Linda Pizzuti sends Liverpool message after Newcastle win as Jurgen Klopp's side march on

Linda Pizzuti was delighted to see Liverpool record 'another record' after their win over Newcastle on Thursday evening at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side became the first English team in history to win 2000 matches in the top-flight, a milestone reached courtesy of a 3-1 win over the Magpies.

The Reds are continuing their push for the Premier League title and were helped to victory courtesy of goals from Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Pizzuti, wife of FSG chief and Liverpool owner John Henry, was delighted with the performance of the team and took to Instagram to send the team a message of support.

"3-1 win, 3 points, and another record for Liverpool: First team in English history to record 2000 victories in the top flight," she wrote.

Liverpool are due to be in Premier League action this Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur, though this game is already in serious doubt.

Five of this weekend's fixtures have already been called off due to coronavirus outbreaks and recent reports have suggested that a circuit breaker could be put in place to control the spread of the Omicron variant.

Curtis Jones, Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk were all missing for the Reds during last night's win, having returned suspected positive COVID-19 results.
