Linda Nolan's fear of dying as cancer spreads throughout her body amid brave fight

Linda Nolan confessed she is “scared of dying” as she opens up on battling cancer.

The star, 62, first found a lump in her breast in 2005 and discovered she had stage three cancer.

She was given the all-clear in 2006 but found out over 10 years later that the cancer was back and had spread to her hip.

In May 2020, the cancer spread to her liver.

“I have a CT scan coming up and after that, I’ll get the results from my oncologist,” she explained to OK! magazine.

“Every time, I worry if it’s spread again. I’m scared of dying. There’s so much to live for. You realise that when you’ve been through all that I have. Every day is a gift.”

She has to take four chemo tablets in the morning and four at night.

Linda lost her husband Brian Hudson - who she met in 1979 - to skin cancer in 2007.

The Nolans singer was used to having Brian’s help and support during her first battle with cancer.

“I always think if he was here, he’d sort it,” she said. “When I had cancer in 2006, I’d wake up in the night feeling rubbish and he’d rub my back, giving me what I needed.

“I miss him every day. I had depression when I lost him and I still suffer now, but it’s under control.

“I don’t want to go back down that slippery slope again.”

But the Nolans - who lost their sister Bernie to the cruel disease in 2013 - have had some good news in the form of Anne Nolan's cancer retreat.

"Normally I’d have been over the moon, but it was so hard to say I was clear of cancer at the time because Linda hadn’t had her results back," Anne told the magazine.

"But Linda was great. She didn’t make me feel bad. It was definitely bittersweet."

Linda recently revealed she had started dating and even went on a socially distanced date.

She said to Mirror: “I might see him again but I wouldn't want to get too involved with anybody at the moment because I don't know how long I'm going to be here.

“I've had the love of my life but it would be nice to have somebody to spend time with.”
