Linda Lusardi thinks Boris Johnson 'must be OK' as she got more oxygen in coronavirus fight

Linda Lusardi  says Boris Johnson "must be alright" as she was given more oxygen than him when she was in intensive care fighting coronavirus.

Linda, 61, spent 10 days in hospital after both she and her husband Sam Kane were struck down with Covid-19, while the prime minister remains under the care of doctors in his own battle with the bug.

The former glamour girl eventually made a recovery and is now recuperating at home.

Speaking about her experience in intensive care, Linda told Sky News that she's convinced Johnson is going to pull through as he was given less oxygen treatment than she was.

Linda explained: "They put me on 20 litres of oxygen which makes me think Boris must be alright if he's only on four."

She also revealed she initially tested negative for the disease - despite being in hospital suffering serious breathing troubles.

After being admitted to intensive care, she later received a positive test.

She added: "They did another test on me a couple of days later which came back positive. there were some very dark moments when I didn't think I was going to make it."

Linda also said her coronavirus was initially mistaken for a tummy bug as both she and Sam had  diarrhoea and sickness.

She said: "We didn't really recognise the symptoms because they were not typical of what had been put out there.

"My husband and I both had diarrhoea and sickness, which wasn't one of the symptoms we were told about.

"We were told about the dry cough and the fever. We got the fever as well. I caught it from him about three of four days afterwards and we both deteriorated so badly.

"He had days when he was going up and down, but I took a nosedive really until I really couldn't breathe.

"I was vomiting a lot, which was really strange because it was blue. Blue was coming up from my lungs. And lying on my front with a bucket feeling like I was drifting away..."

Despite going through such dark times, Linda and Sam are now both recovering at home.
