Linda Lusardi 'looked like she was dead' when horrified husband visited hospital

Linda Lusardi 's husband Sam Kane admitted on Good Morning Britain that she looked like she was already dead when she was suffering from coronavirus.

Linda had been fighting for her life in intensive care after testing positive for COVID-19.

Sam also battled the virus but recovered sooner than Linda and was able to return home.

He was allowed to visit her in hospital after the staff gave him full PPE to protect him from contracting the virus again, and he was horrified by her state.

"I thought she was gone, she looked like she was dead," he told Lorraine Kelly and Dr Hilary.

But he added he spoke to Linda about their children, Jack and Lucy, and about other positive things.

"Her lights came back on," he revealed.

"Then it was small steps, she got better and better."

Linda has since returned home after ten nights in hospital and continues to recover from the deadly virus.

She said she and Sam are still "walking around like old people," and she gets breathless just walking up and down the stairs.

"It must have been so worrying for your children," said Lorraine.

Linda agreed it was "traumatic" for them, as they did not know if their parents were ever going to return home.

"They didn't want to let us know how scared they were," she added.

Sam added: "We didn't know how ill we were, but goodness knows we knew we were ill."

Linda revealed the doctors were very honest with her about her chances of surviving.

"The doctor said, 'You're 61, we don't know what we are dealing with here and we cant promise you anything'," she recalled.

She text Sam to tell him she might not make it, and he said he went into "meltdown", fearing he may never see his wife again.

Sam described being separated from his wife in hospital while they were both treated as "horrible", but the couple are closer than ever now, and vowed to never take each other for granted again.
