Lincolnshire crash: Teens, 17 and 14, killed after car hit tree 'in hearts forever'

Two teenagers killed in a car crash in Lincolnshire have been remembered at a poignant balloon release in their memory.

Ricky Sharp, 17, and Joby John Coyle, 14, have been named locally as the victims to the tragic smash, which happened on Monday.

It happened in Welton Cliff, close to Lincoln, at around 8pm, Lincolnshire Live reports.

Six teenagers were in a Vauxhall Astra which left the road and crashed into a tree.

GoFundMe  page has also been set up - and people are being urged to donate.

Kiya Edwards, a friend of Ricky's, told Lincolnshire Live: "Ricky was one of a kind.

"I only knew him for a short period of time when he moved into Schoeffer House.

"He lived in the room opposite me. He was so full of energy and just clicked with everyone straight away.

"He used to knock on my door every morning and say: 'Morning Kiya.'

"As much as it got on my bloody nerves as it was probably eight in the morning, he still put a smile on my face.

"He was always jumping around - there was never a dull moment with him!"

The mother of the 17-year-old wrote on Facebook yesterday: "We are devastated to say that we are spending our last few moments with him before we have to turn his life support off.

"Rest in peace boys, gone but never forgotten, in our hearts forever."

Tom Washington, a friend of Joby's, is organising a meeting in City Square in Lincoln at 11am on Saturday, March 30 from where balloons and flowers will be taken to the crash scene.

A statement from Lincolnshire Police said: "We are looking for anyone who saw a silver Vauxhall Astra in the area of Welton, Scampton, the A15 or the A46 around the time of the incident to contact us.

"We are also appealing for any dash cam footage.

"If you saw this vehicle in the area just before 8pm, please get in touch on 101, quoting incident 441 of March 25."
