Sunderland have a lot of work to do if they are to make the League One play-off final after losing 2-0 to Lincoln in the first leg of the semi-final.
The visitors were forced into an early change when Denver Hume had to come off with an injury, Callum McFadzean replacing him.
Lee Burge was called into action twice, saving from Montsma and Scully as the home side had most of the chances.
Sunderland created their first chance when Jordan Jones' corner from the left was met by Tom Flanagan's far post header, Bursik saving.
Lincoln then hit the woodwork when a low shot from just outside the box beat Burge but came back off the upright.
Sunderland began the second half brightly and Jordan Jones and Bailey Wright both saw efforts hit the crossbar.
But they were rocked when Tom Hopper opened the scoring, sliding home the rebound after Burge saved from Grant.
McGeady went close again for the visitors before disaster struck.
Burge's clearance was charged down by Brennan Johnson who converted for the second.
