Lincoln City boss Michael Appleton says the future of Nottingham Forest loanee Tyler Walker is close to being resolved.
The front man is on a season-long loan with the League One Imps, but the Reds are able to recall him this month.
It is an option they have been considering as head coach Sabri Lamouchi looks to bolster his attacking resources, with bringing in a striker a priority before Friday’s deadline.
Walker has bagged 16 goals in 33 appearances for Lincoln so far this term - form which has caught Lamouchi’s eye.
Appleton says City have contingency plans in place should Walker or fellow loanees Joe Morrell and Jake Hesketh get the call from their parent clubs, but he expects final decisions on whether they stay at Sincil Bank to be made soon.
“They (the decisions) are still to be made, to a degree. There’s still deadlines on them in terms of whether they could potentially go,” he told Lincolnshire Live.
“But we have been working hard with the (parent) clubs to get them to give us as much time as they possibly can if they’re thinking about doing it (recalling them).
“With one of them we should know by Monday. With another we should know by Wednesday.”
“We have people in mind that we could bring in if that’s the case (they are recalled),” he added.
“But we’re happy with what we’ve got and we want to keep them around because they’ve been a big part of things for the last three months or so.”
