Here is the Leeds morning digest for Thursday, October 16.
Lincoln City boss Michael Appleton confirms interest in Leeds United’s Robbie Gotts
Lincoln City boss Michael Appleton has confirmed the club’s interest in signing Leeds United’s Robbie Gotts on loan before the transfer deadline on Friday.
Gotts, 20, is part of an exciting crop of youngsters at Elland Road and the club are keen to continue his development via a loan deal.
“There are three of four with different clubs, who potentially we may look to do something just to make sure the squad is more than capable of getting through to January when the window
shuts this week – and Robbie is one of those,” he told Lincolnshire Live.
“But I am guessing there are numerous clubs in the race. The problem we have got is the finances, it’s one of them where unless it’s next to nothing – or nothing – in terms of allowing us to give players exposure and getting them into a first-team environment with little cost to us, then obviously we are not going to be able to do it.
The Raphinha verdict that will delight Victor Orta and Leeds United
Leeds United were not short of ambition during the first phase of the transfer window, and that was proven by the fact the club signed Raphinha on deadline day.
The 23-year-old cost around £15million from French side Rennes and it has been welcomed by Leeds fans.

Huddlestone highlights Leeds’ influence on ‘unusual’ results
Tom Huddlestone has earmarked Leeds as the reason behind the crazy and ‘unusual’ set of results in the Premier League.
Leeds have produced some enthralling performances in the Premier League including a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool and a 4-3 win against Fulham.
And Huddlestone believes that Leeds attitude to games has inspired other teams to go on the front foot.
“I think there’s been a mixture,” Huddlestone told Sky Sports. “I think the fans is a massive part. I feel a lot of the results that we see has stemmed from people watching Leeds away at Anfield in the first game of the season.
“Leeds have gone there as a newly-promoted team, against the champions and shown no fear, whatsoever. They have gone against them. Pressed them high up the pitch and almost a case of if we are going to lose then we are going to lose fighting and playing our own way.
“I think a lot of the smaller teams in the past will go there and try to play for a 0-0. They have just gone with a bit more impetus and tried to take the game to the bigger teams. And as we are seeing now, a lot of them are getting unusual results but results that are justified.”
