Limited number of fans to be allowed attend Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirier

Fans will be present at Conor McGregor's UFC bout with Dustin Poirier this month.

The Notorious faces the American at UFC 257 in the early hours of January 24, with the bout taking place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

A limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend the bout, with tickets ranging in price from €177 to €1,100.

H.E Ali Al Shaiba, Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi said: "Following the reopening of our emirate to international tourism, we are delighted to welcome fans to Etihad Arena, our new world-class events and entertainment venue on Yas Island.

"Abu Dhabi’s collaborative and coordinated response in tackling the spread of the coronavirus has inspired pioneering health measures to ensure a safe and secure environment.

"The UFC Fight Island Triple Header on Yas Island this month will once again shine the spotlight on why the UAE is the world’s coolest winter destination, where visitors to Abu Dhabi can safely experience the Emirate’s rich and diverse mix of culture, entertainment and lifestyle attractions."

The bout will be McGregor's first since his 40-second demolition of Donald Cerrone 12 months ago in Las Vegas.

The Dubliner had planned to fight three times last year before coronavirus wreaked havoc with sporting events worldwide.

McGregor has been described as being in the best shape of his life ahead of the  upcoming bout, which could be for the lightweight belt.

Speaking last month, his striking coach Owen Roddy said: "Coming off the Cerrone camp, he was in great form, he was motivated, he was in a good place, and then he wanted to go on this run throughout the year, and then Covid messed it all up for everybody, but he didn’t stop training.

“He hasn’t stopped. He’s been very active, working all areas of mixed martial arts, and you can see that now.

"He’s in the best shape I’ve ever seen him in my entire life."
