Limited number of fans allowed to attend sporting events in Republic of Ireland

A limited number of fans will be allowed to attend outdoor sporting events in the Republic of Ireland from tomorrow.

Up to 200 spectators will be allowed at venues with a capacity of over 5,000, while 100 people will be allowed inside smaller grounds.

Fifty fans will also be allowed to attend indoor sporting events, as part of the Irish Government's 'Living with Covid plan'.

All sporting events have been held behind closed doors since last month as the Irish government attempts to manage a surge in Covid-19 cases.

Inter-county GAA is set to resume next month, with the League of Ireland to be played to a conclusion over the coming weeks.
