Nottingham Forest have launched a commemorative shirt to honour their remarkable achievements in winning the European Cup forty years ago.
Produced in partnership with technical sponsor Macron, just 1,979 shirts will be available to Reds supporters which have gone on sale in the club shop priced at £70.
The Garibaldi red shirt, which comes in a presentation box, was revealed during the club’s marquee event to mark the 40th anniversary of arguably their greatest triumph, as Brian Clough’s miracle men beat Swedish champions Malmo 1-0 to win the European Cup in Munich, courtesy of a Trevor Francis header.
That was of course, the first of two such triumphs as Clough's heroes retained their title the following summer in Madrid.
“The emotions that a jersey may give to the person who wears it is what we are striving for every time we create one of our products,” said Macron chief executive Gianluca Pavanello.
“The Nottingham Forest jersey wants to convey to today’s fans the same emotions from 40 years ago.
“This is a jersey that fans, today as in those days, will wear with passion and love for the club colours,” he added.
Names of those players now immortalised in Forest’s rich and remarkable history are printed in the fabric of the shirt, while Champions of Europe is embroidered inside the collar, with European Cup embroidered in white.
Forest say the shirt can only be purchased in-store, with a one available per customer.
