Limin’ Beach Club: Soca beats, coconut cocktails and Caribbean chicken on menu at new urban beach opening April 12

Party this way: the spot has three beach spaces

A new urban beach is to join the ranks of London’s sandy spots, as the Limin’ Beach Club officially opens its doors on Monday April 12.

Found on Gabriel’s Wharf, next to the Southbank Centre, the spot is promising to bring a taste of the Caribbean to the capital, with street food, soca beats and cocktails in pineapples and coconuts all on offer.

The site, which overlooks the Thames, has three beaches. Two are now open to book, while a third is being kept for walk-ins only.

While the club won’t offer its full grill menu until May 17, in the meantime those braving the start of the Great British summer will be met with Trinidadian street food dishes including aloo pies and pholourie, as well as Caribbean classics, with jerk chicken, soft shell crab and and barbecued sweetcorn all available. Cocktails will unsurprisingly lean into rum – no word on little umbrellas, but we’re optimistic. A range of beers and wines will also be available, and oysters and Champagne will be served for brunch on the weekends.

The new opening follows the original Limin’ pop-up, which first made an appearance in Spitalfields in summer 2019. Last year, it moved to the south bank for a soft opening, but saw a full launch scuppered by lockdown.

Bookings have now opened for the site. For more information, visit limin.co.uk.
