LIMF 2020 downsized to one day only at Sefton Park this summer

Liverpool International Music Festival will return to Sefton Park this summer for one day only.

The festival, which is back for its eighth year, will be downsizing for 2020 to just one day, instead of its usual two.

As with last year the event will be preceded by Cream Classical in the Park, a dance music festival which will see a 50-piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra perform huge sets, including some of dance music’s biggest tracks.

LIMF returns to Sefton Park on Sunday, July 19, 2020.

Liverpool city council has confirmed the downsized festival is a result of budget challenges facing the council this year.

Claire McColgan, director of Culture Liverpool, said: “We’re excited Liverpool International Music Festival is returning in July.

“Due to the budget challenges facing the city council, the decision was made for LIMF to be a one day event.

“Thanks to our great relationship with Cream, we’re working with them once again to ensure the event takes place on the same weekend as Cream Classical in the Park. This means that people can once again enjoy a whole weekend of incredible live music.”

The lineup for LIMF 2020 is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
