A Limerick punter had a Bank Holiday weekend to remember after winning over €14,000 from a football bet.
The anonymous backer struck a confident €100 bet in their local BoyleSports shop on six teams in action in Europe with a -1 handicap, meaning all six teams needed to win by at least two clear goals.
And that’s exactly what happened as Viktoria Plzen (13/10), Basel (11/5), Ajax (20/21), Monaco (5/4), Salzburg (3/4) and Rosenborg (6/5) all delivered comfortable victories on Sunday.
When the final whistle sounded, the customer was able to return their betslip in exchange for a whopping total of €14,303.52.
