A Limerick community has been left in mourning after two elderly twins passed away on the same day.
Mary McKie and Archie Brown, both aged 89, from Ballynanty, died on Saturday.
Both had been ill recently, with Mary passing away in University Hospital Limerick.
Archie passed away at home, and is survived by his wife Anne. He was buried on Wednesday morning.
Mary is survived by her four children. She was buried on Tuesday morning.
Tributes are being paid to the pair.
"We have many fond memories of both of you. May your gentle souls rest in peace.
"Archie was one of life's true gentlemen."
Shannon RFC, who Archie played a big part of, wrote: "Archie was a stalwart of our club and a true gentleman. He was quite literally one of the men who built our club and his support never waned. Rain, hail or shine Archie was on the side-lines or on the front seat of the supporters bus beside Ann and would happily sing us home when called upon."
While Mary was labelled as a "lovely lady" by people who knew her.
"She was a great neighbour to my family. May she rest in peace."
"Mary was a gentle lady who always had time for a chat. A huge loss and will be sadly missed.
"Very sorry to hear of Mrs McKie's passing, an absolute lady and her twin brother a lovely man too."
