Limerick castle finally confirm megastar did stay there for secret Christmas break

The owners of an Irish castle have finally confirmed that pop superstar Taylor Swift spent Christmas in 2018.

News broke at the time that the 'Shake It Off' singer Swift had stayed at Glin castle in Co Limerick when sharp fans of the singer recognised the surroundings which her actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn posted a picture to his Instagram account.

It showed the famous Knight’s Walk during the festive season two years ago.

At the time there was never any confirmation that the pair were guests at the castle, with staff believed to have signed non-disclosure agreements.

But a post on Glin Castle’s Instagram account on Monday said: “Thinking back to two Christmases ago when we welcomed some very special guests who particularly enjoyed The Knight’s Walk.

“Are Taylor Swift, Joe Alwyn and their families inspiring you to dream of your own Irish getaway? Contact enquiries@glin-castle.com to book your perfect holiday.”, the Limerick Leader reports.

Glin Castle has been home for 800 years to the FitzGerald family and is located in the middle 400-acre wooded estate on the banks of the river Shannon.

Landscape designer and gardener Catherine FitzGerald  along with actor husband Dominic West runs the family home which is available for family hire.

Taylor's ticket (Glin GAA/Twitter)

Taylor Swift earned a good Reputation in the small village of Glin after she lent her support to a local GAA club.

Glin GAA were grateful to the Bad Blood singer and tweeted her, writing: "Great to see taylorswift13 support our GAA club on her recent holiday in Glin, Ireland. Thank you Taylor!"

The ticket shows Taylor gave her address as "USA" and bought the ticket from a seller named K. Lyons.
