Lily Rose Depp does not identify as completely heterosexual

Lily Rose Depp has appeared in a campaign celebrating people who do not identify as completely heterosexual.

The 16-year-old model and daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis followed in the footsteps of Cara Delevingne when she appeared in a portrait for LGBTQ activist and photographer iO Tillett Wright’s 'We are You: Self Evident Truths' project.

In a caption alongside the photo of Lily Rose, Wright wrote: “I’m so proud of my baby girl @lilyrose_depp. She decided she wanted to be in @selfevidentproject because she falls somewhere on the vast spectrum, and I couldn't be happier to welcome her to the family. She's a tiny gem of a good human. #prouduncle #weareyou”.

Wright, who already has 9,958 portraits, is hoping to photograph 10,000 people in the US who identify as anything other than 100 per cent straight to demonstrate that sexuality and gender exist across a broad and fluid spectrum.

She will take all 10,000 portraits and display them in front of the Washington Monument, in a campaign she hopes will make it harder to discriminate against the LGBTQ community.

LGBT rights across the globe

The campaign comes at an important time for LGBTQ rights in the US, as same-sex marriages were legalised nationwide and Caitlyn Jenner's transition was celebrated globally. However, it also exists while 27 states can still legally dismiss employees for being anything other than straight.

Delevingne also appeared in a portrait for the campaign wearing a “We Are You” T-shirt to support National Coming Out Day. The supermodel later discussed her relationship with the singer St Vincent for the first time in an interview with Vogue magazine.
