Lily James reveals how she transformed into Pamela Anderson for latest role

Lily James has revealed the lengths it took for her to transform into Pamela Anderson for her latest role in the TV mini series, Pam and Tommy.

The British actress' performance as the former Baywatch star comes after she found fame in Downton Abbey before being cast as the title character in Disney 's live action remake of Cinderella.

To get into character Lily says she surrounded herself with images of Pamela, lost 20 pounds and changed her voice in a transformation that took four hours each day.

Lily told Variety : "I wanted to be strong as opposed to just dropping weight. And then I had these prosthetic boobs and forehead. It took four hours every day."

Physical transformation is one thing, but the Surrey-born star also had Pammy's voice and mannerisms to contend with to.

Lily continued: "I had a montage of all her interviews from the 90s and I would start tuning into her voice and almost learning it like a song. The pitch and the rhythm. She speaks really, really fast.

"And then how she has her hair and her hands. I just watched her so much and kind of stayed in her the whole time."

The star went on to reveal that in order to perfect the role she spoke constantly spoke in American English throughout the five months of filming, rather than slipping back into her native Surrey tongue.

A second biographical role could soon be on the cards for Lily on the back of her recent success.

The star is reportedly being lined up to play the lead role in a forthcoming biopic about the late Playboy playmate Anna-Nicole Smith.

Anna-Nicole's rollercoaster life is being turned into a biopic by her two best friends in Hollywood, reality show stars Patrik Simpson and Pol Atteu.

Show producer Patrik admits he has "reached out" to Lily, who he described as "amazing... everything she does is brilliant."
