Desperate Lily Allen got hooked on prescription pills in extreme bid to lose weight

Lily Allen has opened up about the desperate measures she took in an attempt to lose weight when she was about to go on tour.

The 35-year-old Not Fair singer - who secretly got married last year - was reflecting upon her journey to recovery on a podcast alongside DJ Fat Tony.

During her conversation with the star, Lily opened up about her former party lifestyle and how she eventually managed to turn her life around.

At one point, the mum of two revealed that she got addicted to Adderall in an attempt to lose weight when she was about 14 stone and about to go on tour with Miley Cyrus.

In the candid chat, Lily bravely opened up about struggling with her demons when she was younger.

“I got married when I was 24 and I had a baby and a baby who died ten years ago this month and went on to have two babies," she told DJ Fat Tony.

“Six months after my youngest was born we ran out of money and had to go out on the road again and I was 14 stone and did not feel like a pop star at all.

She added: “I started taking this drug called Adderall, which is like speed, to lose the weight and then I got addicted to this drug cause it made me feel invincible and I could work long hours.

“Then I ended up on tour in America supporting Miley Cyrus and it was a highly sexualised tour and I’d spent the last three years pushing babies out.

Lily went on to explain that she had began cheating on her husband at the time Sam Cooper and began relying on alcohol.

The songstress went on to seek help and checked into rehab to battle her addictions.

She has since turned her life around and in the summer of 2020 marked one year of sobriety.
