Lily Allen took advantage of Halloween to have another swipe at her ex-husband David Harbour by dressing up as his alleged mistress ‘Madeline’.
The singer, 39, hit headlines this past week with the release of her new album West End Girl, with its confessional songs about the end of her marriage - including claims of infidelity.
The album's first single, titled 'Madeline', appears to be the name of David's alleged mistress as it features the lyrics "and who’s Madeline?”
Appearing at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles on the same day of the single's release on Friday, Lily dressed up as much-loved children’s book character, Madeline, in a thinly disguised nod to her ex's purported affair, The Sun reports.
Lily completed the look with an orange bob wig, white socks, black shoes and a red Birkin handbag.
Although Lily has accused the Stranger Things actor of cheating on her, she insists her new song is a mix of confessional lyrics and fiction.
But journalists have raced to find the backstory behind the anthem, with one interviewer brazenly asking Lily, “Who the f*** is Madeline?”
Comparisons have been made with Dolly Parton classic ‘Jolene’, as well as Beyoncé’s ‘Sorry’ with its jibe at “Becky with the good hair” after husband Jay-Z admitted to infidelity.
Lily’s outfit was one of the highlights of celebrity Halloween costumes this year, with A-listers going all out for the red carpet.
Jade Thirlwall sent tongues wagging by dressing up as a gremlin, while Love Island star Millie Court opted for a slightly more unusual Halloween costume, and dressed as a Subway order, complete with red gloves and green heels.
Gemma Collins she filmed a fun transformation turning herself into Ariana Grande’s Glinda from the Wicked film franchise, and Helen Flanagan went 90s - wearing Alicia Silverstone’s famous yellow tweed outfit from the movie Clueless.
