Lily Allen and David Harbour 'selling £6m NYC house' where he made awkward 'cheating' joke on camera

Lily Allen and David Harbour have reportedly put their home in New York City up for sale amid his alleged infidelity scandal.

The Smile singer, 40, and Stranger Things actor, 50, split in December and it was later claimed he had a three-year affair with a costume designer.

Allen released a bombshell “revenge” album called West End Girl last week that accused him of cheating with a girl called “Madeline”.

The exes have now listed their Brooklyn townhouse for a staggering $8 million (around £6 million), The US Sun reported.

They are set to make millions in profit, having bought the four-storey pad for $3.3 million (£2.5 million) in 2020.

Eagle-eyed fans noted that Harbour made a joke that alluded to cheating while giving a tour of the house two years ago.

In a resurfaced video interview with Architectural Digest in 2023, the couple showed camera crew around their townhouse.

Harbour joked that the crew were a former fling as he invited them in.

Looking shocked as he opened the door, he said: “Oh, God... What the hell are you doing here? I mean, last time I was single... I have a family now.”

Harbour added with a flirty look, “You look good though... come on in,” and ushered the crew inside as Allen watched on behind him and laughed.

Fans have since branded the exchange “odd” and claimed the actor’s joke hasn’t aged well.

“David’s welcoming intro-joke aged like milk!” one commented.

“I remember watching this when it first came out and thinking their vibe was kinda odd and NOW WE ALL KNOW WHY,” another added.

“Harbour really made a trailer for his own cheating scandal during the first 20 seconds, her body language don’t lie, she knew something. This intro didn’t age well,” a third posted.

Allen and Harbour bought the home under two separate trusts as co-owners and made several renovations worth thousands, according to The US Sun.

The home has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, a private back garden with a sauna and cold plunge, and a basement gym.

The property is described in the listing as a “layered narrative of traditional English charm, modern Brooklyn sensibilities and rich Italian influence”.

The former couple took out a $3.35 million mortgage when they bought the house in November 2020 and they had until 2051 to pay it back, per The US Sun.

It is believed they filed for several building permits to renovate the home, with the most expensive being for $282,600 and $265,600 for general construction.

Allen moved to New York to live with Harbour in 2020 after marrying him that year following their meeting on the celebrity dating app, Raya.

A local resident claimed the exes haven’t lived there for a “quite some time,” saying: “Every house on the street has Halloween decorations, but not Lily and David’s.

“It’s a very family-friendly neighbourhood, Lily was very active in the community when she lived here with David.”

After their split, Allen moved back to London with her two daughters from her first marriage to Sam Cooper, Ethel, 13, and Marnie Rose, 11.

The Not Fair singer rocked the music world last week when she released her tell-all breakup album, in which she accused Harbour of cheating with a woman bearing the pseudonym “Madeline”.

Costume designer Natalie Tippett, 34, has since identified herself as the woman in question, having worked with Harbour on the set of the Netflix film We Have A Ghost in 2021.

The affair reportedly began between the pair during the filming, and he allegedly flew her to his home in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tippett identified herself in an interview with the Daily Mail, after speculation over who Allen was referring to on her album, in which she asks “who the f*** is Madeline?”

When asked about the song, she said: “Of course I’ve heard the song.

“But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on. It’s a little bit scary for me.”

Tippett did not offer more comment on the lyrics, saying: “Yeah… I just don’t feel comfortable talking about it at the moment.”

Several songs on the new album, including Madeline and Tennis, were written about the alleged affair which led to the couple splitting in January after four years of marriage.
