Lille chief Gerard Lopez has admitted that Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Boubakary Soumare.
The 20-year-old has impressed in his three seasons in Ligue 1, with a host of teams said to be keeping an eye on the young star.
Lille are said to be open to selling the midfielder in January if they can keep him on loan until the end of the season - a similar arrangement to that of Arsenal's agreement to sign William Saliba from Saint-Etienne in the summer.
And Lille president Gerard Lopez has revealed that among many potential suitors for the young star is Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.
"Soumare? It is true that there are many interested," Lopez told Canal+. "From Spain, from Italy...
"The interest of Jose Mourinho? I know he likes him very much.
"This is not the priority - there are five, six clubs that are interested in him.
"Afterwards, he must also be interested in the club, so we will see."
Soumare is reportedly valued by Lille at around €40million (£33.9million), with clubs such as Napoli, Inter and Manchester United also linked - while Real Madrid are said to be attempting to attract the midfielder in January.
Wolves are said to be interested, but would reportedly be unlikely to be able to sign the 20-year-old.
